so click the button that says open resource pack folder
keep the folder open and go backwards in the directory(the bar at the top) to .minecraft there you'll find your mods folder CLOSE MINECRAFT if you've run forge or have a previous version open that and drag jar files into there only jar files will work in some scenarios ive gotten a couple zips and once a folder to work but mainly if its not working its cause you haven't brought your mods aren't jar files
